regarding this release. We strongly recommend

ABOUT THIS HOTFIX


PURPOSE

This HotFix replaces the ePolicy Orchestrator
Agent for WebShield Appliances 2.0.1 that could
cause the server service to stop.

RESOLVED ISSUE

1. ISSUE:
   During the agent-to-server-communication
   interval, the agent stops and restarts crond
   and syslogd.

   RESOLUTION:
   The agent no longer stops and restarts any
   system daemons.

This HotFix consists of a package called

INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS

To use this HotFix, you must have ePolicy
Orchestrator 2.5 software installed on the
computer you intend to update with this
HotFix.

   NOTE:
   This HotFix does not work with earlier
   versions of ePolicy Orchestrator software.


INSTALLATION STEPS

1. Close all open local and remote ePolicy
   Orchestrator Consoles.

2. Create a temporary folder on the hard drive
   of the console client. Extract the HotFix
   files from ALE2011.ZIP to a temporary
   folder.

3. Log on to the ePolicy Orchestrator server.

4. In the console tree, right-click
   "Repository" (under "ePolicy Orchestrator"),
   then select "Configure Repository".

5. Select "Add new software to be managed",
   then click "Continue".

6. Select "ALE200.NAP" from the temporary
   folder you created in Step 2, then click
   "Open" to add the agent to the Repository.

7. Click "Yes" when asked if you would like to
   overwrite existing software.

8. Click "Yes" when asked if you would like to
   enable software deployment support.

9. When the process has finished, click "OK".

10.   Stop and restart the "McAfee ePolicy
   Orchestrator 2.5 Server" service.


REMOVING THIS HOTFIX

We recommend that you do NOT remove the HotFix
files from your ePolicy Orchestrator 2.5 Server
installation once you install them. If you
reinstall your ePolicy Orchestrator 2.5 Server
software, we recommend that you also reinstall
the HotFix.
