ABOUT THIS RELEASE

PURPOSE

This release replaces the executable file that
controls the Alert Manager service and the resource
library that communicates to Active Directory. These
new files resolve all of the outstanding issues
listed in "Resolved Issue" and "Previously Resolved
Issues."

RESOLVED ISSUE

1. ISSUE:
The installation of Alert Manager changes the
location for the ePolicy Orchestrator Event
Forwarding Program in the registry for the
    Common Framework Agent.

    RESOLUTION:
This Patch will update the registry value for
    the ePolicy Orchestrator Event Forwarding
Program to the install location for the Common
    Framework Agent if necessary.

PREVIOUSLY RESOLVES ISSUES

1. ISSUE:
If the computer name for a Microsoft Windows
2000 computer is changed, Alert Manager does not
change the recipient list to match the new
    computer name.

    RESOLUTION:
Alert Manager now changes the recipient list if
the computer name is changed on a computer
    running Microsoft Windows 2000.

2. ISSUE:
An application error in AMGRSRVC.EXE is reported
    to the event log.

    RESOLUTION:
Memory management has been improved in Alert
    Manager.

3. ISSUE:
Long Active Directory computer names (greater
than 100 bytes) can cause Alert Manager to
    generate application errors.

    RESOLUTION:
Changes have been made to allow Alert Manager to
work with Active Directory computer names that
    include more than 100 bytes.

4. ISSUE:
Depending on the language of the Alert Manager
server and e-mail client, the subject line for
    email alerts contains unreadable text.

    RESOLUTION:
The subject line for e-mail alerts now displays
    correctly.

       NOTE:
Hankaku Kana characters should not be used in
the subject field for e-mail alerts. In some
instances, these characters will not be
       translated correctly.

5. ISSUE:
Alert Manager regularly attempts to republish to
    Active Directory.

    RESOLUTION:
Alert Manager now does not attempt to republish
to Active Directory unless it was published to
    Active Directory during the installation.

6. ISSUE:
The date and time stamp on e-mail alerts is not
reported properly in the e-mail client.

    RESOLUTION:
This Patch changes the default formatting used
when displaying the date and time stamp. In
cases where the date and time stamp is still
displayed incorrectly, this Patch allows you to
use additional registry values to configure how
the date and time stamp displays. Details on how
to use these registry values are listed in the
"Date and Time Stamp Configuration" section.

7. ISSUE:
Network alert messages are not displayed
properly if the priority of the message is set
lower on the sending machine than on the
    receiving machine.

    RESOLUTION:
This patch causes message priority to be handled
    correctly.
