Thank you for using Alert Manager software.
This file contains important information
regarding this release. We strongly recommend
that you read the entire document.

   IMPORTANT:
McAfee strongly recommends that you use any
   pre-release software (beta or release
candidate) in a test environment only.
Pre-release software should not be installed
   in a production environment.

McAfee does not support upgrading of a
pre-release version of the software. To

RESOLVED ISSUES

The following list describes issues from the
initial beta 1 release of Alert Manager 4.7
that have been resolved with this current
release.

1. ISSUE:
For the beta 1 release, Alert Manager 4.7
did not install itself as a clustered
resource. It installed on separate nodes of
   a cluster server instead.

   RESOLUTION:
This issue was fixed in the beta 1 refresh
release. Alert Manager now installs as a
   clustered resource.

2. ISSUE:
For the beta 1 release, Alert Manager 4.7
did not support overinstall of any
stand-alone Alert Manager server. Before you
install Alert Manager 4.7 you had to first
   uninstall any existing versions.

   RESOLUTION:
This issue was fixed in the beta 1 refresh
   release.

3. ISSUE:
   The beta 1 VirusScan Enterprise 7.0 E-mail
Scan component did not send alerts to the
beta 1 version of Alert Manager. Note,
however, that E-mail Scan detection and
   logging did function as designed.

   RESOLUTION
This issue was fixed in the beta 1 refresh
release. The E-mail Scan component now sends
   alerts to Alert Manager.

4. ISSUE:
For the beta 1 release, the Alert Manager
service was always installed using the
system account. If you wanted the Alert
Manager service to use a specific account,
you needed to use the services control panel
applet to assign the user manually.

   RESOLUTION:
This issue was fixed for the beta 1 refresh
release. You can now specify a user account
   when installing Alert Manager.

5. ISSUE:
For the beta 1 release, Alert Manager 4.7
for Windows .NET server was not yet fully
supported. Some functionality did not work
correctly if you installed the beta 1
version of Alert Manager 4.7 on a computer
with the Windows .NET operating systems.

   RESOLUTION:
This issue was fixed for the beta 2
   release.

KNOWN ISSUES

1. In the most current RC1 release of the
Windows .NET operating system, the Messenger
service is disabled by default. To use the
Alert Manager Network Message alerts on a
.NET server, you must first start the .NET
Messenger service. Refer to your operating
system documentation for information on how
   to do this.

2. For this beta 2 release, Alert Manager 4.7
does not yet support publishing of Alert
   Manager in Active Directory.
