INSTALLATION

This update Patch is for Entercept version 5.1
Management Server/Console only. The Patch will not
install correctly for version(s) 4.1 or 5.0 Management
Server/Console.

   NOTE:
There is one Patch installer for both the Console
and the Management Server. It automatically detects
what is installed on the local system and takes the
   appropriate action.

The Patch installer is a single, Windows-based installer
application. After the Patch is installed, the version
number in the About dialog box (Help | About ) changes
to 5.1.1 Build 640.

BEFORE YOU INSTALL THE PATCH

There is no uninstall or add/remove option for the Patch.

INSTALLATION STEPS

1. Place the local Entercept agent into Warning mode.

2. Close any existing open consoles.

3. Run ENTERCEPTPATCH512.EXE where your Management Server
and/or Console are currently installed to apply the
   updates for both.

4. Run ENTERCEPTPATCH512.EXE on any remote console installation
to apply the updates for the console.

5. To verify installation: from the console, under Help\About
   should read version 5.1.1 - Build 640

RESOLVED ISSUES

The following list describes issues from the previous
releases of this software product that have been resolved
with this current release.

5.1.1

1. ISSUE:
Inability to manage agents by groups.

   RESOLUTION:
This release provides for the moving of agents by agent
group from protect mode to warning mode and then back
to protect mode, and the uninstall of agents by agent
   group.

2. ISSUE:
Random ports opened for TLS connections from console
   to management server.

   RESOLUTION:
A new version (3.1) of JDataConnect is bundled with
this release. This is an infrastructure component used
for providing JDBC support over the network between
the Console and the Management Server. This release
contains the updated version 1.9 of the
   JDataWeb-ServerGateway.class file. This version
provides improved performance, and also resolves the
issue of anomalous behavior of the TCP connection
between the client and server. Because of this change,
the 5.0 Console and the 5.1 Management Server will no
   longer communicate.

3. ISSUE:
The Entercept management server fails to send SMTP
notifications to an SMTP server configured with a
   multi-line 220 reply.

   RESOLUTION:
Support for multi-line response delivered in
   multiple packets was added.

4. ISSUE:
User defined schedule reports fail to run.

   RESOLUTION:
Reporting infrastructure was updated to resolve this
   issue.

5.1.2

1. ISSUE:
Creating an exception with greater than 955 characters
worth of IP addresses is truncated.

   RESOLUTION:
The code was expecting the ExceptionParameter column
size to be 1024, not 4000 as it is in the database.
The data was therefore getting variably truncated
when it exceeded 1024. Increased parameter to 4000.

2. ISSUE:
Multiple simultaneous Agent install Causes server errors.

   RESOLUTION:
   Modified agent update database trigger.

3. ISSUE:
Entercept Server does not run on Windows 2003 SP1

   RESOLUTION:
Resolved issue with unloading/reloading dll's and
   the function pointer.
