ABOUT THIS HOTFIX

PURPOSE

This HotFix is designed to resolve a SQL
authentication issue with AVIMSNAP.DLL when
running graphical reports.

RESOLVED ISSUES

1. ISSUE:
Running a graphical report from a local or
remote console produces a SQL connection
failed error. This usually occurs when
   connecting across un-trusted domains.

   RESOLUTION:
This HotFix replaces the file AVIMSNAP.DLL
and properly authenticates to the SQL
server, allowing graphical reports to run.

FILES INCLUDED WITH THIS HOTFIX

This HotFix consists of a package called
EPO2010.ZIP, which contains the following
files:

   AVIMSNAP.DLL =
      ePolicy Orchestrator application DLL
   PACKING.LST =
      Packing list for HotFix files
   HOTFIX10.TXT =
      This text file

INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS

To use this HotFix, you must have ePolicy
Orchestrator 2.0 console software installed on
the computer you intend to update with this
HotFix.

   NOTE:
This HotFix does not work with earlier
   versions of ePolicy Orchestrator console
   software.

INSTALLATION STEPS

1. Close all open local and remote ePO
   Consoles.

2. Create a temporary folder on the hard drive
of the console client. Extract the HotFix
files from EPO2010.ZIP to a temporary
   folder.

3. Go to the directory:

      C:\Program Files\McAfee\ePO\2.0\AVI

4. Rename AVIMSNAP.DLL to AVIMSNAP.BAK.

5. Copy the updated AVIMSNAP.DLL from the
temporary folder you created in Step 2 to
the directory specified in Step 3.

6. Repeat Steps 1-5 for every client that has
the remote console installed, including the
   ePolicy Orchestrator 2.0 server.

REMOVING THIS HOTFIX

We recommend that you do NOT remove the HotFix
files from your ePolicy Orchestrator 2.0 server
installation once you install them. If you
reinstall your ePolicy Orchestrator 2.0 server
software, we recommend that you also reinstall
the HotFix.
