ABOUT THIS RELEASE


PURPOSE

This release includes a new version of
LWIPLUGN.DLL, to resolve the issue listed
below.


RESOLVED ISSUE

1. ISSUE
   LWIPLUGN.DLL may be missing after reboot
   when VirusScan Thin Client 6.0 is upgraded
   to VirusScan Thin Client 6.1 in an ePolicy
   Orchestrator 3.x environment. Symptoms
   include DAT and scan engine update failure.

   RESOLUTION
   A new plug-in for the Lightweight Installer
   can be installed to affected clients to
   resolve the issue. See "Installation Steps"
   below.

   NOTE:
   Client tasks for DAT and engine updates will
   work successfully when clients receive the
   new LWIPLUGN.DLL.

INSTALLATION


INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS

To use this Patch, you must have VirusScan Thin
Client 6.1 software installed on the target
computer being managed by ePolicy Orchestrator
3.x.

   NOTE:
   This Patch does not work with previous
   versions of VirusScan Thin Client software.


INSTALLATION STEPS

1. At the ePolicy Orchestrator server, extract
   the Patch files from LWIP6101.ZIP to a
   temporary folder.

2. Start the ePolicy Orchestrator 3.0 console
   and log on.

3. In the console tree under "ePolicy
   Orchestrator," "Repository," "Software
   Repositories," select "Master."

4. In the details pane, select "Add package."

5. In the check in package wizard window, click
   "Next" to continue.

6. Select "Products or updates" and click
   "Next" to continue.

7. Browse to the temporary folder you created
   in Step 1, select PKGCATALOG.Z, and click
   "Open."


8. Click "Next" to continue, then click
   "Finish" and "Close."


9. Close the console.

   NOTE
   The client Agents will download and install
   the new Plug-in at the next scheduled Agent
   update task.
