NEW FEATURES

- AutoUpdate 7.0 Replacement
Installation Designer 7.0 can replace the
AutoUpdate version originally in the source
package. You do not need to deploy VirusScan
Enterprise, and then deploy the agent.

- AutoUpdate 7.0 repository list
Installation Designer 7.0 allows you to
   import an AutoUpdate repository list
   (sitelist.xml)into the VirusScan Enterprise
   package for deployment.

- Editing installation packages already
   customized by the Installation Designer.

- Placing new DAT and engine files into an
   installation package.

- Placing HotFixes and service packs into an
   installation package.

- Adding programs to the installation package.
You can now add up to 100 additional
programs to the custom installation package,
that you can deploy and install with
   VirusScan Enterprise.

- Configure the VirusScan Enterprise
installation to hide or show elements of the
   user interface to the end-user.

- Configure and add Alert Manager to the
   installation package.

INSTALLATION AND SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

Please see product documentation for complete
information regarding installation and system
requirements.

KNOWN ISSUES

1. Error message, "Internal Error 2356
   Cabs.w1.cab"
This error occurs when you attempt to
   install VirusScan Enterprise from an
Installation Designer modified package to a
target computer that already has VirusScan
   Enterprise installed.
When deploying to target computers that are
   already running VirusScan Enterprise,
   Network Associates recommends deploying a
settings file rather than an entire
   installation package.
However, if it is necessary to deploy an
   entire installation package to computers
   already running VirusScan Enterprise, you
   must first uninstall VirusScan Enterprise
   before installing the Installation Designer
   modified package.

2. Error message, "This feature requires
Administrative privileges. You will not be
able to edit current settings. Please
   contact your system administrator for
   rights"
You may receive this error when you have
chosen to use a configuration file from an
   installation package created with McAfee
   Installation Designer, and attempt to
configure the recipients of the Alert
Properties dialog box accessed from the
   Alert Manager Properties dialog.
If you receive this error, you must choose a
different source for the settings file.

3. Overwrite of local environment settings on
   the destination system.
When you have chosen "Modify an existing
installation by generating a new settings
file" on the Welcome dialog box, and
   selected "Existing VirusScan Enterprise
settings on local system" on the Source for
   Configuration dialog box, then selected
"Save the entire configuration" on the Type
   dialog box, some computer-dependent
information (such as the Alert Manager
installation path and local computer name)
is saved to the McAfee Installation Designer
   tree.
   This causes the Installation Designer
   configuration applicator to overwrite local
   environment settings on the destination
   systems.

4. The settings (.CAB) file is not encrypted.

5. Multiple .CAB files with different languages
should not be packaged in the same
   PKGCATALOG.Z file.

6. When DAT files, that are newer than those
   the AutoUpdate repository contains, are
added to a customized installation package,
the DAT files will be downgraded to whatever
is accessible to AutoUpdate 7.0 when
AutoUpdate initiates. You must download the
entire DAT package (2.5 MB transfer per
   client). Therefore administrators need to
make sure the AutoUpdate repository contains
DAT files that are equal to or newer than
what you are including in the customized
   installation package.
