ABOUT THIS RELEASE

PURPOSE

This patch addresses the issues shown in the
RESOLVED ISSUES section below.

This Patch is for use with SpamKiller v2.1. The
Patch comprises one compressed archive file.

    SKD21P2EN.ZIP

This Patch also includes one file that replaces the
file SKD21.NAP on the McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator
server. This NAP file provides an interface between
the ePolicy Orchestrator server and the SpamKiller
for Lotus Domino software.

RESOLVED ISSUES

1. SpamKiller for Lotus Domino v2.1 scanned
internal e-mails originating from Domino iNotes
    client as spam messages.

2. The auto-update for SpamKiller for Lotus Domino
v2.1 fails at random, when both GroupShield for
Lotus Domino and SpamKiller for Lotus Domino are
configured for FTP auto-updates on the same Lotus
    Domino server.

3. Disabled spam rules continued to quarantine spam
messages even after the Domino server was
    restarted.

4. The ePolicy Orchestrator Reports for SpamKiller
for Lotus Domino do not return data.

5. E-mail messages sent by blacklisted users were
not quarantined by SpamKiller for Lotus Domino
    v2.1.

6. Rule set (RENU) version 1212 adds a rule that
    cannot be disabled: MISSING_SUBJECT.

7. SpamKiller for Lotus Domino v2.1 displays at
random a pop-window with the message "Output
buffer is too large, cant output text".

8. SpamKiller for Lotus Domino v2.1 auto-update was
unable to update rules when the update sequence
was interrupted by one or more revisions.

9. Reinstalling SpamKiller for Lotus Domino v2.1
after installing and updating to Rule Set 1212
or later, resulted in a blank Rule List.

10. The On-Access scanner failed to shutdown
properly and displayed an error message "Failed
to terminate AU response thread" at the Lotus
    Domino console.

11. Rule set (RENU) updates fail as the FTP path
defined by the NAP file did not match with the
local install when SpamKiller for Lotus Domino
v2.1 is managed from ePolicy Orchestrator.

12. Inconsistency in SpamKiller for Lotus Domino
v2.1 rule count during different Rule set (RENU)
    update scenarios.

13. The information about Rule set (RENU) update is
not reflected in the SpamKiller for Lotus Domino
v2.1 Configuration Manager until MCAFEECONFIG is
    restarted.

14. The meeting requests sent using Domino Access
for Microsoft Outlook(DAMO) are marked as dead
mail as a result of awaiting scan for spam.

15. The ability to enable/disable ePolicy Orchestrator
management within SpamKiller for Domino is now
possible through an agent, from the Actions menu.

Note: After installing Patch 2, by default the
          ePolicy Orchestrator management for SpamKiller
for Domino is disabled. If ePolicy Orchestrator
had previously managed SpamKiller for Domino,
you will have to re-enable the agent from the
          SpamKiller configuration database.

16. Prebuilt_bayes.DAT file for SpamKiller for Lotus
Domino 2.1 is not installed after Rule set
    (RENU) is updated.

17. After a Rule set (RENU) update, CTRL + ALT +
DELETE to log-off causes the Lotus Domino server
    to crash.

18. SpamKiller for Lotus Domino v2.1 causes the
Lotus Domino server to crash on log-off.

19. Unregistering and re-registering of SPAMDCOM.DLL
file causes Lotus Domino server to crash.

INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS

    NOTE:
This Patch only supports SpamKiller for Lotus
Domino 2.1 on Microsoft Windows. It does not
work with earlier versions of SpamKiller
    software.

To check which version of SpamKiller for Lotus
Domino you have installed, at the Domino
    console, type:

    TELL MCAFEECONFIG VERSION

If you have SpamKiller for Lotus Domino v2.1
installed, the console will show the product
    version as:

    5.3.xxxx.0

where xxxx is a build number (1329 or above)
that will vary depending on whether you have any
    HotFix applied.

    IMPORTANT:
This Patch replaces the existing database design
in your SpamKiller for Lotus Domino data
directory, which is located within the Lotus
Domino Data Directory under MCAFEE. McAfee
recommends that you back up your existing
    SpamKiller for Lotus Domino Configuration
database before you install this Patch.

INSTALLATION STEPS

McAfee distributes this Patch in a compressed format
to reduce transmission time. To install this Patch,
follow these steps:

1. Create a temporary directory on your hard disk,
then copy SKD21P2EN.ZIP to this directory.

2. Use a compression utility such as WinZip or
PKZip to extract the Patch files from the
    SKD21P2EN.ZIP archive into your temporary
    directory.

3. Make a backup copy of all databases.

4. Shut down the Lotus Domino Server.

5. Run SKDPATCH.EXE. This will load the Patch
    Installer.

6. Click the Patch button to begin the installation
    of the Patch.

7. Once complete, click Finish button.

    For details about WinZip visit:
    http://www.winzip.com/ddchomeb.htm

    For details about PKZip visit:
    http://www.pkware.com/shareware

You only need to use the SKD21.NAP file contained in
this
Patch, if you use ePolicy Orchestrator version 3.0
or later. The SKD21.NAP file must be applied to the
ePolicy Orchestrator server.

Use this procedure to overwrite the existing McAfee
SpamKiller Software Package in the ePolicy
Orchestrator Repository.

1. Log on to the desired ePolicy Orchestrator
    server.

2. In the console tree under ePolicy Orchestrator |
    <SERVER>, right-click Repository, then select
    Configure Repository. The Software Repository
    Configuration Wizard appears.

3. Select Add new software to be managed, and then
click Next. The Select a Software Package dialog
    box appears.

4. Select the Software Package (.NAP) file for the
SpamKiller for Lotus Domino product, and then
click Open. The Software Package file is
uncompressed, and the individual files are added
    to the Repository.

5. The installation process starts. If there is an
existing version of this NAP file already loaded
you will be asked to confirm that you wish to
    overwrite the existing file.

6. When the files are successfully installed, a
message confirms the installation has completed.
Any settings previously entered for client
servers using SpamKiller for Lotus Domino will
    remain unaltered.

TESTING YOUR INSTALLATION

You can test the operation of the software by
running the GTUBE string test. The GTUBE (General
Test Mail for Unsolicited Bulk e-mail) provides a
test by which you can verify that SpamKiller has
installed correctly and is detecting incoming spam.
The test e-mail message must be sent from an outside
account.

To test your installation:

1. From an SMTP client, create a new e-mail
    message.

2. In the body of the message, copy the text below.
In your message, the line displayed below must
be entered with no line breaks.

       XJS*C4JDBQADN1.NSBN3*2IDNEN*GTUBE-STANDARD-ANTI-UBE-TEST-EMAIL*C.34X

3. Using SMTP mail, send a new e-mail message to a
mailbox address on the Domino server where you
    have installed SpamKiller.

The GTUBE test assigns an extremely high spam
score to the message, scans the message, which
it recognizes it as a junk e-mail and deals
accordingly. The GTUBE test overrides blacklists
    and whitelists.

For more information on the GTUBE test file,
    visit:
    http://spamassassin.apache.org/

REMOVING THIS PATCH

To remove this Patch from your computer you will be
required to reinstall SpamKiller v2.1 for Lotus
Domino software

    NOTE:
We recommend that you do NOT remove the Patch
files from your SpamKiller for Lotus Domino
installation once you install them. If you
reinstall your SpamKiller for Lotus Domino v2.1
software, we recommend that you also reinstall
    the Patch.
