INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS

To use this release, you must have SecurityShield
1.0 software installed on the computer you intend to
update with this release.

INSTALLATION STEPS

1. Close the SecurityShield interface, if it is
    open.

2. Extract the Patch 3 files from SSH10Patch03.ZIP
into a temporary folder on your hard drive.

3. Run the file SS10Patch03.EXE.

4. Follow the instructions in the wizard.

The program produces a SuperDAT.log file (in the
folder where the Patch was run), which lists all
    actions taken.

    NOTE:
If this Patch is installed on a Windows 2003
Server, it might not create the Temp folder
within the SecurityShield bin folder because
the Network Service does not have Write
permissions to this folder. To give the Network
Service Write permission (to complete the
    installation):

   a. Open the Properties page of the
SecurityShield bin folder, which is usually
       in C:\Program files\Network Associates\McAfee
       SecurityShield.

   b. Click the Security tab.

   c. Click Add, type in "Network Service" and
       click OK.

   d. Select the full Control checkbox in the
       Permissions block.

   e. Repeat Steps b-d for the folder: C:\Program
       Files\Common Files\Network
       Associates\Talkback\Data.

   f. Restart the firewall and SecurityShield
       services.

TESTING YOUR INSTALLATION

To check that Patch 3 is applied correctly, verify
the file versions of the following files, which are
resident in the SecurityShield and Microsoft ISA
servers directory:

- Microsoft ISA Server 2000:

    ISAFILTER.DLL1.0.716
