ABOUT THIS RELEASE

PURPOSE

This Patch includes a new version of the file
SETUP.EXE to resolve the issues listed below.

RESOLVED ISSUES

1. ISSUE:
   When installing VirusScan Enterprise 7.0
   silently over VirusScan Multiplatform 4.5.1,
and while Outlook is open, sometimes the
error message "Failed to load VsUtil.dll"
   displays.

   RESOLUTION:
The installation of VirusScan Enterprise 7.0
waits up to five minutes for Outlook to
   release the VirusScan Multiplatform files.
   Because the installation progresses
silently, there is no impact to the user if
the installation is waiting for Outlook to
   release the files.

2. If VirusScan 4.5.1 was installed without the
   AutoUpdate/AutoUpgrade component, the
upgrade to VirusScan Enterprise would result
in an error referring to a file called
   "Dodge5.bin."

   RESOLUTION
SETUP.EXE has been modified to cater for the
   absence of the AutoUpdate/AutoUpgrade
   components of the previous version.

FILES INCLUDED WITH THIS PATCH

This Patch consists of a package called
VSE70010.ZIP, which contains the following
files:

   SETUP.EXE =
      The installer executable
   PATCH10.TXT =

INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS

To use this Patch, you must be installing
VirusScan Enterprise 7.0 software on the target
computer.

   NOTE:
This Patch does not work with previous
   versions of VirusScan software.

INSTALLATION STEPS

   1. Extract the VirusScan Enterprise 7.0
installation files to a temporary folder
      on your hard drive.

   2. Extract SETUP.EXE from the Patch .ZIP
file to the folder containing the
      VirusScan Enterprise 7.0 installation
      files, then execute SETUP.EXE.

   NOTE:
For ePolicy Orchestrator 2.5.1, the updated
installation files can be added to the
   repository per your ePolicy Orchestrator
   2.5.1 documentation.

For ePolicy Orchestrator 3.0, the updated
installation files can be added to the
   repository after using McAfee Installation
Designer 7.0 to produce a new installation
   package, which includes the necessary
   PkgCatalog.z file.

TESTING YOUR INSTALLATION

You can test the operation of the software by
running the EICAR Standard AntiVirus Test File
on any computer where you have installed the
software. The EICAR Standard AntiVirus Test
File is a combined effort by anti-virus vendors
throughout the world to implement one standard
by which customers can verify their anti-virus
installations.

To test your installation:

1. Copy the following line into its own file,
then save the file with the name EICAR.COM.

   X5O!P%@AP[4\PZX54(P^)7CC)7}$EICAR-STANDARD-ANTIVIRUS-TEST-FILE!$H+H*

The file size will be 68 or 70 bytes.

2. Start your anti-virus software and allow it
to scan the directory that contains
   EICAR.COM.

When your software scans this file, it will
report finding the EICAR test file.

3. Delete the file when you have finished
testing your installation to avoid alarming
   unsuspecting users.

   IMPORTANT:
Please note that this file is NOT A VIRUS.
