ABOUT THIS RELEASE


PURPOSE

This release installs a new version of ADSLOKUU.DLL
to resolve the issue listed below.


RESOLVED ISSUES

1.  ISSUE:
    In certain Active Directory environments, the
    on-access scanner is unable to start because the
    Active Directory name is larger than 100 bytes.

    RESOLUTION:
    This release includes a new version of
    ADSLOKUU.DLL that properly handles Active
    Directory names larger than 100 bytes.

INSTALLATION


INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS

To use this release, you must have VirusScan
Enterprise 7.0.0 software installed on the computer
you intend to update with this release.

    NOTE:
    This release does not work with earlier versions
    of VirusScan Enterprise software.


INSTALLATION STEPS VIA INSTALL EXECUTABLE

1.  Extract the Patch files from VSE70013.ZIP to a
    temporary folder on your hard drive.

2.  Double-click the VSE70P13.EXE file and click
    "Next."

3.  Once the install completes, click "Finish."


INSTALLATION STEPS VIA EPOLICY ORCHESTRATOR 3.X

1.  Extract the Patch files from VSE70013.ZIP to a
    temporary folder on your hard drive.

2.  Open the ePolicy Orchestrator 3.x console and
    add the package from the temporary folder
    created in Step 1 to your repository. Consult
    "Checking in Packages" on page 206 of the
    ePolicy Orchestrator 3.0 Product Guide for
    instructions on adding a package to the
    repository. The package type for this Patch is
    "Products or Updates."

3.  The next time an agent update task runs, the
    VirusScan Enterprise client will automatically
    download and install the Patch.


INSTALLATION STEPS VIA MCAFEE INSTALLATION DESIGNER

1.  Extract the Patch files from VSE70013.ZIP to a
    temporary folder on your hard drive.

2.  Extract the files from the VSE70P13.EXE by
    running the executable with the switch "/e."
    This will extract the files to the folder with
    the VSE70P13.EXE file.

3.  Start McAfee Installation Designer 7.1, select
    "Create a new installation package," and select
    a source and destination folder for your
    installation package; then click "Next."

4.  Go to the "Additional Files" section and click
    "Add." For the source file, go to the folder
    where you extracted the Patch files in Step 2,
    and select the file ADSLOKUU.DLL.

5.  Select "Product Install" for the destination
    folder and click "OK."

6.  Click "Finish" in the McAfee Installation
    Designer, and a new product installation package
    is created that includes this Patch. This
    installation package can be used to deploy onto
    systems that do not have VirusScan Enterprise
    7.0.0 already installed.
