Dir2Clr is a stand-alone remover for several variants of the Dir-II virus.
Although the program is straight-forward to use, there are a few caveats:

1) Most Dir-II variants are not compatible with DOS versions higher than
3.31. I have no information on how well this remover works on such systems.

2) Dir-II is not compatible with Windows 95. If you install Windows 95
onto a system infected with Dir-II, or if you attempt to clean a system
that is running Windows 95, you will probably lose everything on the disk.

3) This remover searches memory for several variants of the virus, and
deactivates it if it is found. This is not completely safe, and I strongly
suggest that you attempt to remove the virus from a system that was booted
from a known clean floppy.

The syntax for the remover is:
	dir2clr [ options ] drive [ drive ... ]

These are the supported options:
-? or -h -- Print out a help screen
-d -- delete infected files (don't disinfect them)
-m -- check multiple volumes in the same drive
-n -- don't disinfect infected files
-q- -- don't ask the user before deleting infected files
-q+ -- ask the user to confirm the deletion of infected files (this is the default)

By default, the program checks each drive on its command line, and disinfects
any infected files it finds. Also, the -n option will override the -d option.

The original program was written by Vesselin Bontchev. Some of the options
and the usage message were changed by Jim Schneider of McAfee Associates,
and this text file is entirely the work of Jim Schneider of McAfee Associates.
